Turkey in the tree
One of the most difficult assignments for a wildlife photographer is to get a picture of a turkey in a tree – I certainly wouldn’t want the assignment. Turkeys do apparently spend their nights up in trees; so, it was quite a surprise the other day to be wandering among the ripening blackberry bushes in the backwoods across the street and catching a glimpse of a turkey fluttering its wings way up in a tree. Of course, it was over 100 yards away and getting dark, but I did manage to get it in focus with the 300mm lens.
As mentioned in earlier reports, the beaver bog creek is almost powdery dry now. This is not necessarily a surprise since it has happened before; what is surprising is the amount of rain this spring and in about a month it went dry.
