Two inches of rain

The last 24 hours saw about two inches of rain fall on us. The bridge bravo on the beaver bog outlet stream is an island. The culvert under the road is spewing out a torrent of water (see 2nd image). Here, at left, is the stream flowing toward me just around the corner from the culvert. In mid-August, this part of the stream was not totally dry but there was little flow, if any.
The third image shows the stream as it flows toward bridge alpha, which is about ten feet over the stream and on the part of the trail that follows the original Sabattus to Gardiner railroad line, so it has a history of surviving floods. Again, the typical width of the stream here is only three feet wide most of the year.
