With the darkness now surrounding us (dark when you go to work, dark when you come home), we don’t get to patrol around the neighborhood as much as we like. The snow-machine people have not done their pre-season maintenance; here is a barrier that will stop most until cleared.

The second image shows the beaver bog’s primary outlet creek; this is where the beavers had their major dam long ago. Our Thanksgiving snow is mostly gone and this week has brought the first sustained cold weather of the season.
