One of two great gray owls encountered Monday evening

During a late afternoon recon beyond the bog, we rousted a pair of great gray owls, one of whom went up high and perched as you see him here. He watched us intently until we attempted to approach. They flew a bit further away and then started to discretely “who” at us.
