Winter on the pond
Last weekend, we went down to the pond to see what was going on. As you can see, nothing much. In most years there would be at least a half-dozen ice fishing shacks; so far, there is only one (hard to see near the further shore, stage middle left). The lack of snow-machine traffic also attests to the uncertainty of the pond ice. Here you can see the tracks from the latest brave souls who did venture on the ice highway.
The pond is a critical highway for travel to and from the east of our house in the snow-machine world.
