During the past weekend we planned to get some pictures of hummingbirds. We put out a hummingbird feeder and also had hostas in bloom. We have noticed that once the bees showed up around the hostas, the hummingbird may show up.
There was a fifteen second visit by the one local hummingbird that we know of and that was all. So, you get to see bees (see left) and butterflies (below) instead. The bees were around all day. The butterflies showed up briefly on Sunday.
Just to allow us some excitement, we saw a bee attacking the butterfly (see the third image, below); The bee is in front of the butterfly; you can just make out his rear end:



On a quick patrol to the far bog one weekday evening, we had nothing much to see (meaning no birds or wildlife). So this northeast bound airliner got top billing.
