
Last weekend over on the coast at Thomaston, Murphy and I found a small group of sea ducks on the Mill river near Sherry’s mom’s house.
We found them trudging through the low tide mud and it was only after a half hour or so before they took flight.
Yesterday’s recon to the beaver bog is captured with this nearly 180 degree panorama shot looking east. It was forty degrees and partly sunny: very strange January day in the woods.
We did not need snow shoes because of previous thawing but the soft snow was over a foot deep in spots.
